ABOUT QUADRA ISLAND
Located on the west coat of B.C., Quadra
Island is one of the most diverse islands on the coast. A place
of exceptional beauty, nestled between Vancouver Island and the
west coast of the mainland, it is easily accessible by air, (35
minutes from Seattle, and 25 minutes from Vancouver), or a 3.5
hour drive from Victoria, and a 2.0 hour drive from Nanaimo.
Visitors and residents alike are drawn to
Quadra’s natural beauty. The second largest of all the Gulf
Islands, it is covered with lush rain forests, has more than 20
beautiful lakes, many miles of developed hiking and mountain bike
trails, and a shoreline dotted with emerald bays and lagoons where
freshwater streams feed the ocean and create beautiful swimming
pools at low tides. A large portion of the Island is protected as
parklands, and Strathcona Provincial Park hiking and Mount
Washington ski areas are only 45 minutes away.
